This book discusses about the approach that there are various skin diseases and disorders like Xeroderma pigmentosa (XPD) , Solar keratosis (AD), Psoriasis, Skin cancer, Eczema, photosensitization etc which have can be cured by targeting those components which are crucially involved in the pathogenesis and progress of these diseases. Mere topical applications of medicament could serve to be an ideal treatment. Topical preparations could also contains targeted moieties. Moreover, there is a great need to understand that topical are a mode of administration of drug but not a delivery system. Targeted moieties can be formulated into the form of topical preparations like gel, hydrogl, cream, lotions etc for application at the desired site. The book presented here highlights the concept of developing targeted drug delivery system, assessing its potential through cell lines, developing them into an acceptable skin formulation and evaluating its in vivo potentiality in treating skin complications.
