Patients with diabetes mellitus are said to be five times more likely to acquire cataracts, particularly if they begin the condition early. Flavonoids are bioactive secondary metabolites of plants that belong to a large family of low molecular weight compounds and have a polyphenolic structure. This comprehensive book explores the therapeutic potential of novel flavonoid derivatives in combating diabetic cataractogenesis. Utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach, the research integrates in silico molecular docking to identify high-affinity aldose reductase inhibitors (ARIs) with traditional chemical synthesis and characterization techniques.
