Über diesen Titel

Inhaltsangabe:

Charles Whiting's account of the Allied advance into Nazi Germany focuses on the months from September of 1944, when the Allies attacked the "West Wall" defending the western border of Germany, to the Allied crossing of the Rhine in March, 1945. Whiting describes the German counterattack in December that turned into the devastating Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle of the Rhineland that followed as the Allies pressed into Germany. Generals Eisenhower, Patton, and Montgomery take center stage in this book, which also draws from the accounts of officers and enlisted men as they fought their way through Europe's war-torn landscape.

About the Author:

Charles Whiting is the author of several books on World War II. He lives in York, England.

Anbieterinformationen

BookLovers of Bath is based in the rural idyll of Peasedown St. John in Somerset (God's Own Country) in the south west of England and actually very nearly in Bath. After 20 years of being “internet only” I have now opened a shop, Fact or Fable, in the premises of our now-closed Post Office. With over 20,000 books in stock and another 5,000 or so in the shop I run an old-fashioned book business with every book listed, graded, picked, packed and posted by my own fair hand… abetted by my Jack Russells who are really, not, helpful.
