Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Olaf Engvig grew up in Norway, and holds a Ph.D. equivalent in Maritime History. He is also a former deep sea mariner and coastal skipper.He has worked as an editor and has written numerous books and articles on maritime history. Engvig has also been instrumental in saving and restoring historic ships and was in 1994 awarded the Gold Medal of Merit from King Harald V of Norway for his accomplishments.
