Phyllis Chandler was a teacher and consultant who focused on special education.

Joan Burney, columnist and motivational speaker, co-authored books on sharing faith with children.

Mary Kay Leatherman grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. She majored in English at Creighton University in Omaha and went on to teach English and creative writing to high school students for thirteen years. In 1996, Leatherman was chosen as one of the recipients of the Buffett Award for excellence in teaching. The award was personally presented to her by Warren Buffett.
