Ready to get more on top of your art practice and career? Artist Michele Théberge shows how to create a sustainable, satisfying career and art practice from the inside out. Many talented people give up on a creative career because they were taught the tools and skills of their craft but not how to actually live a fulfilling life as an artist. While numerous books teach artists the very practical aspects of building a career—how to prepare a website, approach galleries, apply for grants and mount exhibitions — many artists lack the wherewithal to develop their work over the long haul and advance it in a public forum. This book puts forth habits, practices and a mindset crucial for the artist to create and share his or her work while maintaining both health and a lasting sense of well-being. It contains practical advice how to develop and sustain a creative practice while dealing with rejection and self-doubt, the importance of crafting a vision for one's work and setting specific goals for it and cultivating a critical and supportive community. Aspiring artists as well as established professionals will find the same encouraging, calm and inspiring advice Michele offers on TheMindfulArtist.com.
