Andy Ellis, who wrote and illustrated this book, has illustrated over twenty books for children including titles from Orchard, Puffin and Hodder. For Kingfisher he has illustrated I Am Reading: Alligator Tails and Crocodile Cakes. He is married to children's writer Mary Ellis and they live with their young daughter Matilda in Richmond, London.
