Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Not only a first ed., but signed by Cardinal Spellman with handwritten inscription "To the builders of Saint Patrick's Cathedral with reverence and prayer Francis J. Spellman Archbishop of New York 1942" on fine paper with beautiful illuminated escutcheon and protected by translucent patterned paper guard; beautiful illuminated ill. on t.p. with nihil obstat on verso. 169 p., clean and otherwise unmarked on very fine paper only very mildly age-toned with occasional foxing. Inlaid is color postcard, blank, showing the High Altar. In fact this volume was created to commemorate the consecration of the High Altar on May 9, 1942. It is full of interesting photos and architectural drawings, as well as reproductions of portraits of Cardinal McCloskey, and the Most Rev. Archbishop Hughes. Binding firm; Clean green wrapper has embossed gilt lettering on front panel; minimal edge wear.Too old to be "like new," of course, but it is gift quality.
