Inspired by a true story, this heartwarming tale of a horse's journey to her forever home will become an instant classic in your family. Sadie was born to a beautiful golden mare on a stormy night weeks too early. Determined to stand on her skinny, wobbly legs, it was clear from the beginning that she was a fighter. Instead of a golden beauty like her mother, Sadie was a bay roan with a coat of interspersed white and brown hairs, giving her the appearance of changing colors. Her big brown eyes reflected her gentle, loving spirit. As beautiful as Sadie was, she felt plain next to some of the other horses. She longed to become a show horse, but she worried that her small stature would mean an unsure future away from her friends as they were auctioned off in all different directions. Through multiple homes and owners, through love and neglect, Sadie continued to show her fighting spirit until she finally found the family she was always destined to love. "We all go through change and hard things in life. Sandy Moore leads us through the life of a sweet horse named Sadie, and in the process, encourages us that it's who we are on the inside that matters, and that we all matter. Although the book is directed toward younger readers, I am not a young reader and I couldn't put it down. I recommend it to anyone of any age who enjoys a good romp through the pasture of life."Donna CronkAuthor of "That Sweet Place: At Home in the Heartland"and "Sweetland of Liberty Bed & Breakfast."
