Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware -The design of efficient communication is a challenging issue for the success of the next generation WMNs to handle real-time and QoS sensitive applications and to satisfy both service providers and users. Unfortunately, the significant point in the literature is that today¿s cutting edge routing standards in WMNs are not perfectly equipped to cater to this task as these standards come with an inherent complexity and suffer from innate problems with respect to efficient communication based applications. Thus, the aim of this book is to enable the WMNs to handle efficiently real-time multimedia applications, in different operating conditions. This book should be especially useful to researcher and students in wireless networking.VDM Verlag, Dudweiler Landstraße 99, 66123 Saarbrücken 196 pp. Englisch. Artikel-Nr. 9783639763683

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware -The unique characteristics of multi-radio wireless mesh networks, such as shared nature of wireless channels, use of multiple radio interfaces, stationary mesh routers, and user-to-gateway traffic pattern, make them different from wired-networks and other wireless networks. In particular, the effects of an unbalanced load can cause rapid gateway overloading, center overloading, or channel overloading. Since most traffic in a WMN is destined towards gateways, traffic concentration at gateway nodes creates a load imbalance at certain gateways, which in turn results in gateway overloading. The issue of center overloading refers to the nodes located near the geographical center of the network becoming overloaded in comparison to other nodes in the network. Finally, channel overloading in a multi-radio wireless mesh network refers to certain channels becoming overloaded compared to other channels. Thus, load balancing is necessary to avoid hot spots and to increase network utilization, as bad routes can exist for a long time in a static network and result in congestion and inefficient use of network resources.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 112 pp. Englisch. Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware -Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) applications has a wide scope in communication networks. It provides internet access, information sharing, services, gaming, public safety, medical and emergency response, valuable asset security, video surveillance, industrial monitoring etc. WMNs are very helpful in disaster and emergency networking. This book presents real-time experimental performance evaluation of WMNs and simulation results of decentralized hybrid wireless mesh protocol (DHWMP) and cluster-based routing protocol (CBRP) for WMNs. This book focuses on routing protocols for WMNs with security mechanism and also discuss real-time implementation of WMNs. This book ideas are simple but simulations and implementation is hard. This book covers the details of IEEE 802.11s routing protocols, and security mechanism for decentralized hybrid mesh protocol, simulation of DHWMP, NCBRP and test-bed implementation for wireless mesh networks.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 176 pp. Englisch.
