Without claiming for this little book the merit of being a complete treatise on Cookery, I yet hope that in it the cardinal principles of the art are plainly set forth. All the recipes are derived from experience, and will be found on trial to be practical: they are in daily use in my own kitchen: and the Bills of Fare appended have also borne the test of actual experiment at my table.
