Hardback. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. 1936. First edition. [vii], 495pp. This book was published under the name of "The Idler", which we believe to be the pen-name of Allan Gordon Bee, a Surgeon Commander in the Royal Navy. Unfortunately we have no further information about the author. It is a volume of reminsicences that has been divided into three parts: Part 1 - Scotland with excursions south of the Border, George Watson's College and as a medical student of Edinburgh (1895-1914, and South African reflections; Part 2 - The High Seas, 1914-1918, and further South African reflections; Part 3 - More High Seas, the African Coasts, Transvaal Practice, Ascension, St. Helena, Tristan da Cuhna, New Zealand and South Africa, and a Medical Philosopher in divers countries (1918-1935). The book is bound in the original orange cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with light shelf wear on the boards. The spine is lightly faded with heavier fading on the top 1/4" of the spine. The spine ends are lightly bumped. The contents are tight and clean with an inscription dated 1936 on the front free endpaper. Artikel-Nr. gScotGen06
