The field of Information Science is intertwined with the complexity present in society. The study object in this field refers to data, information, and knowledge generated, mediated, and appropriated by different individuals in the most diverse human activities. Elaine da Silva is a Post-Doctorate Research Fellow at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) in the area of Information Science. She has a PhD in Information Science from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) with a Sandwich Doctorate developed together with the Formación en la Sociedad del Conocimiento Doctorate Program from the Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) in Spain. She has a Master in Information Science from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp). She is a Specialist in Business Management (Univem) and Strategic Use of Information Technology (Unesp). She graduated in Librarianship (Unesp). She works mainly in the following themes: Knowledge Production; Information Management; Generation and Innovation Management, Public Innovation Policies and National Innovation Systems. She is a member of the research group Information, Knowledge and Organizational Intelligence, (Unesp/Marília). She has teaching experience in undergraduate, graduate, technical and elementary education. She has professional experience in library management and information management consulting. She worked as a substitute teacher in the Department of Information Science of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in 2018 and 2019. She is currently a collaborating professor at the Department of Information Science of the State University of Londrina.
Marta Lígia Pomim Valentim is Full Professor at Sao Paulo State University (Unesp). Postdoctoral fellow at the Universidad de Salamanca (USAL), Spain. Free Professor in Information, Knowledge and Organizational Intelligence at Unesp. PhD in Communication Sciences at the University of São Paulo (USP). Master at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas). Undergraduate and postgraduate professor at Unesp. Research Productivity Fellow from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) since 2002. Leader of the Information, Knowledge and Organizational Intelligence Research Group . Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Information Science (PPGCI) of Unesp. Organizer and author of several books in the area. President of the Brazilian Association of Education in Information Science (ABECIN), 2016-2019. Vice-President of the Association for Education and Research in Iberoamerican and Caribbean Information Science (EDICIC), 2009-2011.
