Fifty-five years ago, there was no Rohnert Park, only a vision in Paul Golis's mind. In 1962, just five years after construction of the first homes on land between Cotati and Santa Rosa, the community of Rohnert Park was incorporated. With a population of 40,000 today, the city has matured into more than simply a bedroom community. The planned neighborhoods Paul Golis and Maurice Fredericks designed for the first two sections, known as A and B, each included a school, pool, and park. These designs inspired many future city planners.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Tim Danisi was born in Virginia and grew up in Ohio. At the age of 19, he moved to California. Since 1988, he has called Rohnert Park his home, and in 1999, he was the driving force in creating the Rohnert Park Historical Society, of which he has served as president since its inception. The images in this book come primarily from the archives of the historical society, which has been collecting donated photographs and printed materials. The text is from interviews conducted by Danisi and from additional research.
