Don't miss the other lift-the-flap fun in Riddle Diddle Dumplings: Riddle Diddle Farm, Riddle Diddle Safari, and Riddle Diddle Rainforest!

Funny rhyming riddles give helpful clues that entice young readers to guess which ocean animals are hiding under the flaps in this sturdy board book.

I scurry and scuttle / with a sideways shuttle. / With pincers, I grip and I grab.
From a seashell I peek / when I play hide-and-seek / Snippety-snap! I'm a . . .

Did you guess crab? Authors Diane Z. Shore and Deanna Calvert team up with clever rhymes to introduce crabs, jellyfish, and other ocean animals. Artist Stephanie Bauer's bright painted patterns and unique colorful textures hide the animals just enough to make this book a fun guessing game.

Serving up a dumpling-sized portion of animal riddles, the Riddle Diddle Dumplings board book series will appeal to toddlers and preschoolers and is perfect for sharing among siblings or multi-age groups of kids.

Diane Z. Shore and Deanna Calvert both love writing in rhyme. Diane is from Atlanta, GA, and says her favorite part about being an author is visiting schools. Deanna, from Birmingham, AL, fell in love with children's books when her daughter was young.

Stephanie Bauer was six years old when her parents gave her an "art box" and she has not stopped painting since. Stephanie lives with her husband and three daughters in Oregon. She has illustrated more than two dozen books for kids.
