Inhaltsangabe: For the busy criminal practitioner in the UK, Richardson and Clark: Sexual Offenses - A Practitioner's Guide provides easily accessible reference material and practical advice. The UK's law surrounding sexual offences is complex, with many facets that are difficult to grasp when a quick response is often required, particularly at the early stages of arrest and police questioning. There are also numerous considerations throughout the trial process itself. The key focus of the book is to provide a combination of 'at a glance' information in the form of flowcharts and checklists for immediate solutions, practical guidance, and insight on preparing and conducting a UK case for trial. It includes reference material in tabular form so practitioners can quickly and easily find the information they require. The book alerts the reader to issues which might arise when conducting a particular element of the process and advises them on the choices they have and the ramifications of such choices.

About the Author: Nigel Richardson is a solicitor who has practised in the criminal courts for some 25 years. He is a partner in Hodge Jones and Allen, where he heads one of the biggest and most prestigious criminal law departments in the UK. He has extensive experience defending in sexual offence cases at all levels, including the most serious. Peter Clark is a barrister at 187 Fleet Street with considerable experience in this field. Accredited at Grade 4 by the Crown Prosecution Service, Peter appears for prosecution and defence in equal measure. As a specialist rape prosecutor he is routinely instructed in gang rape and multi-victim cases. Peter is also heavily involved in barrister training. He sits on the Advocacy Training Committee of the Inner Temple and annually teaches several residential and evening courses for junior barristers, including the Pupil Refresher training for which he is Course Director.
