‘I’ll be revenged on the whole pack of you!’

With a last defiant vow from the gallows, the notorious life of Billy Buckler ends, and all England celebrates deliverance from the pirate’s reign of terror.

But within hours of his execution, when Billy’s remains vanish from his midnight grave, fearful rumours spread across London to fill doubting hearts with new fear.

Only the vampire Benjamin Blake can hope to reach the truth hidden in the city’s night shadows. Why are Billy’s crew cutting a murderous path through the city in search of their captain’s body? Why do all who touch his bones die mysteriously, and all with the same look of terror on their faces? Who is the Baron, a white-masked figure who rises at the pirates’ command to stalk the living in his cloak of blackest night, and with magic enough to challenge even Benjamin’s?

And the most important question of all: What is the dreadful truth of Billy Buckler’s revenge?

As Benjamin pursues answers across the rooftops, it becomes clear the pirate’s last plan will come with a dying moon to threaten England itself, with Benjamin and his powers the last defence against it.

One hundred and thirty-four years after the adventure that gifted to him in The Curse of Silver and Sunlight, Benjamin Blake is back!
