Ein Buch von Buzz. Amerikanischer Astronaut, der als zweite Person auf dem Mond wandelte. Aldrin machte 1951 seinen Abschluss mit Ehren von West Point und flog anschließend im Koreakrieg Jetfighter. Nach seiner Rückkehr zur akademischen Arbeit erhielt er einen Doktor in Astronautik vom Massachusetts Institute of Technology und entwickelte Techniken für bemannte Weltraumrendezvous, die bei zukünftigen NASA-Missionen einschließlich des Apollo-Sojus-Testprojekts verwendet werden sollten. Aldrin wurde im Oktober 1963 für den Astronautendienst ausgewählt und stellte im November 1966 einen neuen Weltraum-Dauerrekord auf der Gemini 9-Mission auf. Als Backup-Befehlsmodul für Apollo 8 verbesserte er die Betriebstechniken für die astronautische Navigationssternanzeige. Dann, am 20. Juli 1969, machten Aldrin und Neil Armstrong ihren historischen Apollo 11 Moonwalk.
