W.W. Phelps is probably one of the most recognizable non-apostles in Church History. Dr. Bruce Van Orden has written an amazing biography of W.W. Phelps, called "We'll Sing & We'll Shout." Phelps was a prolific writer, publisher, and hymn-maker. Phelps has written some of the most beloved hymns in Mormonism, including “The Spirit of God,” “Praise to the Man,” and “If You Could Hie to Kolob.” We’ll talk about his amazing life, his 3 excommunications, his amazing loyalty to the Church, and his rivalry with other church leaders like Thomas B Marsh and Sidney Rigdon.
