CHAPTER 1
SANANDA - RELIGIONS
I AM the Lord Sananda and we—I shall say "we" as we come together and compile the different thoughts for this book—thought it was important to speak about religions right up front. As you have heard many times, man created the religions; God did not create them, although many ministers and pastors preach as if God wrote the Bible. He did not. That was man's idea in order to control the masses. It would be like someone writing a book and stating this is what was said by God.
If you go back to that time period over 2000 years ago, people were still very backward. It was a patriarchic society—male energy—so that it left no room for the feminine, intuitive and more loving energy. Males wanted to control the masses—anything to control. Therefore, what better way to control than to give the masses a doctrine that they could subscribe to? There are endearing stories throughout the Bible that are very picturesque—Moses parting the sea; my being born on Christmas Day (which was not true; actually it was April), lying in a manger (which was not true)—stories that tend to stay in peoples' minds even to this day with little Baby Jesus lying in a cradle on a crop of hay.
Therefore, these beliefs came down through each generation. They spread out through the cultures so that the cultures started taking their own beliefs and making them into their religion. The Jews were very tied to their Torah. They took these huge scrolls, as depicted in the movies, unfurled them and read the text that was tediously printed on them. Hence a religion was born.
The Muslims have their Koran, supposedly given by Mohammed. Since Mohammed was one of us (Saint Germain), anything that was written that he had said is suspect. (Suspect because most likely Saint Germain, aka Mohammed did not say what the scribe proclaims.) Again, the scribes who were interpreting and were transcribing told it like they supposed it was. You have all played those little games where one would whisper something in the next player's ear and by the time it made it around the circle, the sentence was not recognizable—no way near what was said at the beginning. That is the way it was in antiquity.
My words were never interpreted correctly. They had me saying all kinds of things. To my mind, one of the greatest fallacies is that you had to have someone to intercede for you before your message could reach God. You could not just pray to Him on your own. You had to pray to a Saint to ask God for you. Or you would have to ask a priest after you had confessed all that you thought were sins to intercede for you. None of this is Truth—none of it!
Several times each day, the Muslims unfold their prayer rug, get on their knees, touch their head to their rug and parrot their prayers, which are automatic. They are like robots. You look into a mosque and the men (no women allowed) are all lined up like little robots, all mumbling away.
I know there may be those who take offense to this, but, beloveds, bring this into perspective. None of the religions speaks that much Truth. Catholics are like robots also. They get their beads out and each bead is a prayer as they thumb through each one.
Now, please hear this. I know I have made some statements that people will think are blasphemous in order to get your attention. There is nothing wrong with the way the different cultures pray IF they come from their heart and are speaking their own prayers and not just parroting. But, to say repeatedly that these sayings were thought up by a scribe thousands of years ago and to expect the prayers to hold Truth, the correct energy ...
Beloved readers, you do not need someone to intercede for you. All you need is to be in your heart. That is your first step. When you awake in the morning or any time and you feel like you need spiritual help, the first place you go is into your heart chakra. You do not need to go to some building and speak to a person asking him to say this request/prayer for you, as if you do not have the power, as if you do not carry the strength or know-how, as if you are the lesser-god. No one is beneath God. All are Gods. He created you in His own image. You carry Him in your heart. (He will be giving you a teaching in this book also.) But, you are not beneath anyone. You are not beneath me, Sananda.
The only difference you can say between you and me is that I have expanded more. Some might use the term evolved—going up Jacob's ladder. We will use Chako as an example. She is fast catching up which does not make her subservient to me. I respect her; I respect her greatly. I love her! I love her as a human Being. I love her because she is part of me—part of my heart. We are all One, you see.
Therefore, this idea of religions is a fallacy, especially thinking one is better than the other. Now I do not wish you to empty out the churches. They are great meeting places. Some of the cathedrals in different parts of the world attest to the creativity of the people who were the architects, who designed the churches and constructed them, who painted the murals on the ceilings—beautiful work. And the Vatican has some of the most spectacular murals painted by Michael Angelo for your viewing pleasure.
When the religions were first created, the term Christianity was not even a known. The term was given after the fact. It was a body of material that some scribe wrote and tried to liken it after Christ. So they thought let's call it Christ-ion. They did not use the word Christianity, but they thought the material was similar to what Christ would say; however, it was not yet a religion.
This spread throughout the world, actually, with the help of various people. My Apostles did their best to give my teachings, but they, too, had to interpret what I was saying. There are books in the Bible that ascribe to what I had said after I had left (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). Therefore, it all got kind of garbled.
My cousin-sister Mariam went forth after her husband Nathaniel, one of my Apostles, died. She had a severe grieving process. When she came out of that, she became fascinated with the teachings of the man you know as Saint Paul. He was trying his best to spread my word. He did not get it correctly either. However, he was looking for people to carry on his work so he could move to other places. He was a prolific writer and physically a very strong runner. He would run to different little towns and teach about me.
He needed someone to carry on the work when he would leave those towns. Mariam volunteered, saying, I would like to write some of the teachings of Jesus, or...
