She was born a slave—but her sword will shape history.

1002, Attundaland, Sweden. A harsh winter grips the northern lands, where Norse warriors raid and powerful jarls scheme for dominance, their lives ruled by the sword and the old gods.

Sot, rescued as a child from the brutality of Danish slave markets, grows up under the fierce protection of Roar Bjornsson, a famed warrior and trader. Known for her dark skin and amber eyes—marks of a distant land she cannot remember—Sot is both admired and feared, called witch and warrior in equal measure. But beneath her poised exterior, she wrestles with a restless heart and an aching desire for identity.

When she leaves the comfort of Roar’s protection to follow the enigmatic Saxon warrior Eadric, Sot plunges into a world fraught with treachery and bloodshed. Thrust into deadly political intrigues and battles with ruthless enemies, she must confront not only external threats but also the deep-seated fears and prejudices against her unique heritage.

But betrayal comes swiftly, and unexpected alliances and forbidden attractions test Sot’s loyalty, courage, and resolve. As tensions rise and old powers clash, Sot's quest for recognition and honour places her at the heart of a conflict that could alter the fate of the Norse kingdoms forever.

In a world where destiny is forged in blood and ice, Sot’s fight for freedom and identity will ignite a legend.
