This delightful book is an engaging and entertaining defence of PUNS and their reputation as one of the lowest forms of wit. As both an analysis and anthology, history and study, it is an excellent companion to the much-maligned pun and will delight and amuse any reader with an interest in language. 'Walter Redfern's PUNS is a gallant and joyous contribution, very amusing, very learned' GUARDIAN 'For readers who take wordplay seriously, this is a stimulating slim volume' NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW
