Ellen Diederich's new book, Progressive Painting your creative journey, guides you, blending the nuts'n'bolts of creating art with the emotional and inspirational components of the creative process. This beautifully produced 104-page book is annotated with 37 illustrations and 50 full-color paintings that are both instructional and inspirational.
Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Artist. Author. Publisher. Entrepreneur. The artistry and imagination of Ellen Jean Diederich springs from a gifted palette and wanders seamlessly from the poignant and the adorned, to soft, comforting fields of dreams, rococo settings, and, on occasion, to delightful whimsical edges. Her creations suggest a timeless reflection of essential impressions honed by her extensive travels, and tempered by a sense of visualization that is at once unburdened, garden-fresh and real. Ellen has a BFA degree in fine art and a BA in K-12 art education from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She is a signature member of the Red River Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. She is also the author and illustrator of the Ben Franklin Award winning book, Where's Petunia? Diederich is the president of Givinity Press, which provides giclee reproductions and a line of note cards and Christmas Cards.Ellen is married with two children. Her daughters, Monica and Brittany, figure prominently in Where's Petunia? In addition to her own art, Ellen is an art instructor who much-acclaimed adult watercolor workshops in the Midwest. She is a resident of Fargo and on weekends retreats to a family cottage in nearby Pelican Lake. Her love of gardening can hardly be called a hobby as it provides the subject matter for her celebrated floral watercolors. She loves painting gardens, domesticated animals and architecture in her award winning Neo-Impressionistic style.
