Linked to standards, this resource provides you with the ideal instructional tools for designing, implementing, and evaluating problem-based learning experiences. Author Diane Ronis offers specific, practical projects for the classroom, and explains how to make technology an integral part of the inquiry process in real-world problem solving.
According to the Ronis, "Research indicates that an integrated approach to learning aligns with the way the brain naturally processes and internalizes new information. Since mathematics and science are integrated in the world outside the classroom, and technology has become a natural extension of this integration, it seems only logical that these areas be studied together inside the classroom."
Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Diane Ronis is a professor of education at Southern Connecticut State University and has a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. Her drive to make learning meaningful to all students comes from 17 years of teaching middle school and high school mathematics and fine arts as well as eight years of experience instructing preservice teachers at the college and graduate level. Ronis has been a presenter and keynote speaker at numerous conferences, workshops and seminars, and is the author of Brain Compatible Mathematics, Brain Compatible Assessments, Critical Thinking in Math, Problem Based Learning for Math & Science: Integrating Inquiry and the Internet, and Clustering Standards in Integrated Units.
