Mad Maps combine an adventure story, an interactive puzzle-solving treasure hunt, quizzes and facts as a way to learn about history and stimulate creative thinking. In this adventure (based on Native American history) there's a map of Central and North America, picturing the homelands of various Native American tribes, from the Eskimos in the tundra and the Sioux in the plains. Alongside the map are 28 verses plotting the route taken by a brave explorer back in 1582 on his expedition to find the precious peace pipe of Chief Proud Heart. But did he ever find the treasure? Follow his route and use the cryptic clues to see if you can unveil the secret hiding place of the peace pipe. There's also a 14 page booklet packed with informative and fun quizzes and an essential Indian fact file with facts about the enigmatic Native Americans and their many different lifestyles.
