Rovers (pharmacy and health sciences, Drake U.) and Currie (pharmacy, U. of Iowa) update this edition of their text so that it focuses only on students' learning of basic skills needed to provide pharmaceutical care to patients, regardless of the practice setting. It omits the previous editions' inclusion of workplace tools. Sections cover the skills--identifying drug therapy problems, collecting and evaluating data, developing care plans, and documenting encounters--and their application in more settings than the previous editions: community pharmacies, hospitals, long term care settings, and ambulatory care settings.
