While the majority of the book is instructional, it contains two of the earliest chapters on US golf architecture, "The Construction and Upkeep of Courses," and "Putting Greens." Also, chapters on Caddies; Clubs; Club Shafts and Balls; Etiquette, Rules, Glossary of Technical Terms, Index, and Rules Index.
