This beautifully illustrated picture book is about the feeling of being strong. How does Pokpok feel - and what is that feeling called? Where does it come from...? And the important question: what now? Read all about it in Pokpok Is Strong! Pokpok Is Strong is a full-color picture book, sized 8 x 8 inches. Pompom and The Circle of Feelings is a series about emotions and feelings. Can you already recognize what you're feeling? Where does it come from - and how do you handle it? Helping children understand what feelings are and how to recognize their emotions is essential for their emotional development. Pokpok is extraordinarily self-assured and radiates confidence. He approaches life with unbridled enthusiasm and optimism, often rating his days as "12 out of 10." However, his confidence sometimes crosses into overconfidence, making him dismissive of potential difficulties. He has a childlike wonder about his own abilities and the world around him. Pokpok is direct and straightforward, preferring simple solutions and clear paths forward. MOTIVATIONS: Pokpok is driven by a desire to prove his strength, both to himself and others. He finds joy in accomplishing physical tasks and overcoming challenges through sheer force. He's motivated by the positive feelings that come from helping others with his strength and the satisfaction of independence. Beneath his confident exterior, he's also motivated by a need for approval and validation of his capabilities. INTERNAL CONFLICT: Despite his outward confidence, Pokpok occasionally wonders about the source of his feelings and strength. He struggles with situations that can't be solved through physical prowess alone. When faced with emotional challenges or subtle problems, he feels uncertain but masks this with bravado. He has difficulty acknowledging when he needs help, believing that needing assistance might diminish his identity as "the strong one." STRENGTHS: Physical power and endurance are Pokpok's most obvious strengths. He excels at tasks requiring muscle and stamina. His unwavering optimism helps him approach challenges without hesitation or fear. Pokpok has remarkable resilience, bouncing back quickly from setbacks with his positive attitude intact. He's also genuinely caring, eager to use his strength to help others with difficult tasks. WEAKNESSES: Pokpok struggles with emotional intelligence and understanding nuanced feelings in himself and others. His black-and-white thinking makes it difficult for him to navigate complex situations. He can be stubborn, insisting on doing things his way even when another approach might be better. His reluctance to show vulnerability or ask for help creates unnecessary difficulties. Sometimes his boisterous confidence can overwhelm quieter individuals around him. CHARACTER ARC: Pokpok begins with a one-dimensional view of strength as purely physical. Through interactions and challenges, he gradually discovers different types of strength-emotional, intellectual, and collaborative. He learns that acknowledging limitations and accepting help doesn't diminish his strength but enhances it. His journey involves maintaining his positive core while developing a more nuanced understanding of himself and the world, ultimately finding that true strength includes vulnerability and connection with others.
