Poetic Meditations, a new collection of inspirational poems by author John DeCock, presents verse commemorating important Christian holidays-Christmas, Easter, and Ascension Day. Drawing upon warm memories of holidays past as well as the importance of God's love to all Christians, he explores many vital topics of the Christian faith, such as the second coming of Christ, memorable biblical personalities, the importance of worship, and timely current issues. Intended for inspiration for both laypeople and pastors, this collection of verse changes readers to respond to their spirituality and engage with their faith and its traditions. Excerpt from "The Lord's Ascension" Let's celebrate the Lord's ascension The day the Father brought Him home And all of heaven in attention Was gathered round the great white throne. And in the midst the Lamb was standing His work was finest to the end. With trumpet sounds of praise ascending to Him who to the earth was sent His work was done. The only Son, He paid the price, so men could rise from chains of sin, and enter in the Holy place, by saving grace. Let's join in heavens celebration, Let's all present our loud ovation.
