Über die Autorinnen und Autoren: DR AMY-JANE BEER is a writer, editor, journalist and scientist based in rural North Yorkshire. She has contributed to many books on natural history and writes regular features for magazines such as BBC Wildlife.

With more than 80 million specimens, the scope of the Museum's collections is simply vast including the ill-fated dodo, dazzling diamonds and a full-size blue whale model. The Library of the Museum holds half a million artworks, comprising one of Britain's biggest art collections, and over one million books, including rare, richly illustrated antique volumes.

Alice Pattullo is an illustrator based in East London. She produces limited edition screen prints for exhibition and sale in various galleries and shops across the UK. Alongside this Alice works on commissioned illustrations for a variety of clients including Betty's and Taylor's of Harrogate, Bon Appetit, Esquire, Cecil Sharp House, Country Living, Crabtree and Evelyn, Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft, Design for Today, Faber, Nandos, National Trust, Sainsburys, The V&A Museum, and The Village Voice.
