Inhaltsangabe: This work was first published in four parts in 1785-1801. Dickson (1738-1822) was among the first British authors to break away from the framework of cryptogamic taxonomy established by Linnaeus, although he remains conservative as regards his genera. Many new lichens, mosses and fungi were described and illustrated in this work which should remain of interest to those concerned with taxonomy of these groups today. This edition includes an introduction.
