What happened to Alfred's foot? After a morning at the park, Alfred the turtle's foot is bumpy and sticky, and it hurts, too! It's up to Pipsie to figure out what gave him a tender tootsie. As Alfred shows Pipsie where he went that day, they come upon all kinds of insects―from ants to spiders to honeybees. And the clues Pipsie uncovers lead her on a twisty, turny, and even slightly stinky nature mystery.

Rick DeDonato started writing and drawing storybooks for his two kids, Alexis and Matt, when they were little. They're grown now, but Rick is still creating stories! They share a house with their dog, Nacho, and turtle, Alfred E. Turtle!―and the spirit of Tugger, who now plays over the Rainbow Bridge.
