Performance management has become a major area of concern as organisations strive to become globally competitive. Despite its importance, there is relative lack of clarity regarding the concept and the modalities of Performance Management System (PMS), particularly in the Indian context. Over the years, multiple perspectives have evolved to address the issue of centrality of PMS as performance enhancement intervention in organisations. The book is an attempt to capture a wide variety of perspectives on PMS in a holistic and systemic manner. Eminent academicians and practitioners who have played leading roles in conceptualising and operationalising PMS have contributed by way of articles specifically written for this book.
