Various formats and sizes, see complete list for details. Overall about very good. This collection of thirty-five publications and periodical issues (and a total of twenty-three different titles) documents the phenomenon of the Polish ?Prasa konspiracyjna,? as the underground press of World War II has become known. Throughout the war and the German occupation, various Polish resistance groups issued thousands of mostly ephemeral news bulletins, papers, and periodicals, produced in clandestinely operated printing shops throughout Poland, often on poor quality paper and in defiance of all imaginable odds. They included daily newspapers, aimed at the general public and containing updates on the resistance and news from the front; smaller journals and periodicals, often with ideological content and articles aimed at boosting morale; and bulletins aimed at military and action groups, often only a single sheet printed to recto, with concise information on important events and tactical maneuvers. The present collection covers a range of groups active in the underground, from Soviet-sympathizing communist hardliners, to socialists, to more moderate and nationalist groups oriented on the pre-war political system, as well as far-right and even fascist organizations (see the complete list of contents). Most of the publications were issued in late 1943 and early 1944, before the tragic Warsaw Uprising. Most titles within this group cannot be traced outside of Poland, or are only accessible in digital or microfilm copies. A rare occasion to acquire a significant selection of publications by the Polish WWII resistance. 1. Biuletyn Informacyjny. Warsaw. Vol. IV, no. 50 (1942). 2. Biuletyn Informacyjny Ma?opolski.
