Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Donna remembered that she was is a writer just after the loss of her beloved grandfather. She recalls the cursor light on her first personal computer blinking, as if calling her. Her fingers moved effortlessly as she composed a poem in his honor. The writer had returned.

Since then, Donna has lived in many places—Maine, San Francisco, North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains ( her birthplace), and most recently, Illinois. Her professional life took many shapes, but with the same intent… .to help people find what brings them joy in work, nature, and relationships. She founded Donna's Big Red Chair in 2010 and works as a life coach. In 1959, Charlotte's engineer father had a basement dark room where he'd develop the black and white photos he'd taken. When she was eleven, he helped her develop some of her own photographs, taken with her Brownie camera. The seed was planted.

But it wasn't until 2004, after years of education and working in a variety of fields – from teaching to public health research -- that Charlotte realized she is a photographer, not just someone who takes pictures. She draws inspiration from Imogen Cunningham, who said "My favorite photograph is the one I'll take tomorrow." Charlotte's studio is called Eye's Breath Photographic Art.
