Encouraging and fascinating, Out of the Shadows: Women of the Restoration Movement brings to light the lives and influence of faithful women of God whose names are all-too-often forgotten. These women, whether mothers, wives, sisters, or dedicated friends, impacted the Restoration Movement in ways that changed the lives of literally tens of thousands of people. Their stories are expertly told and will cause you to reconsider how you view successful work for the Lord. Though this book is written with women in mind, it will bring encouragement and enlightenment to anyone who reads it--man or woman. "[Mabe] raises thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter that connect the lived experiences of the women of the Restoration era with the challenges, heartbreaks, and joys of women today. We truly still have much to learn from these Godly women from the past." --Lisa Beene, Chair, Department of Behavioral Science, Freed-Hardeman University. "Every chapter has amazing revelations and often humorous details of the Restoration preachers and their untiring efforts in extremely difficult times and circumstances. Thank you, Angie, for bringing these marvelous, faithful women out of the dark and into the light for many generations to come." --Becky Blackmon, frequent speaker at Ladies' Days and author of many Ladies' class books. "[This book] is well researched and hard to put down once you begin to read. Well done, Angie Mabe!" --Jane Washington, ladies' class speaker at Polishing the Pulpit for several years.
