First Stories: The Nutcracker is the perfect introduction, for young children, to this classic story.

Push, pull and turn mechanisms bring the story to life and introduce all the main characters: Clara, the Nutcracker and the fearsome Mouse King! This well-loved tale is beautifully imagined for a new generation by children's illustrator Dan Taylor.

Little ones can collect more books in the First Stories series, including Snow White, The Elves and the Shoemaker, and The Snow Queen.

Dan Taylor has always had a passion for illustration and, since graduating with an illustration degree, has been working for many years as a freelance artist on a variety of projects. Much of his inspiration comes from love of 1950s and 60s design and his heroes include Mary Blair, Alexander Girard and Charles and Ray Eames. Dan works in a number of different media, including traditional painting techniques combined with digital. He obsessively collects mid-20th century and Scandinavian furniture, drinks tea by the gallon and lives with a mischievous little dog called Bertie.
Dan has worked prolifically with Campbell Books on their First Stories series, where his delightful illustrations can be found on the pages of Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and many more.
