Northern England (Civil Engineering Heritage Series)

This volume covers Northern England, from the Scottish border to the southern edge of Greater Manchester, Merseyside and South Yorkshire. It is divided into eight geographical areas, mainly based on county boundaries. For each a site location map and introduction are included. Detailed descriptions are given for each site, including its history, an Ordnance Survey grid reference and the Historical Engineering Work number under which it is registered in the Institution of Civil Engineers' library.
