My father was a man who knew how to talk to a young child, he could enter my world and stir my interest. While he was still alive, I typed all his handwritten work. After his passing, I discovered a partially typed and handwritten work. It consisted of 4-5 translations and a few prose pieces, which I passed to his publisher. I have always been awed by his work, and these days I realize that interest in surrealism has been reignited. The revolution that the movement represented was important to many people, and for this reason, I decided to do my best to ensure that everything he wrote would be made available to the public. Such creators with such an innovative presence, like my father, are rare in our era.

Manolis (Emmanuel Aligizakis) has published more than 20 books of poetry, three novels, and eleven major translation works. His translation George Seferis-Collected Poems was shortlisted for the Greek National Literary Awards. His articles, poems and short stories in both Greek and English have appeared in books, magazines and newspapers in Canada, United States, Sweden, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Australia, and Greece. His poetry has been translated into Spanish, Romanian, Swedish, Portuguese, German, Hungarian, Urdu and Punjabi.
