"This is the testimony of all that I have seen, and all that I have learned. . . . For this is the Book of the Dead, the Book of the Black Earth, that I have writ down at the peril of my life..."
The classic and controversial grimoire—a book of magic, spells, and rituals, ready to be incorporated into your life
Since its initial publication in 1977, there has been a lot of ink spilled on the subject of the Necronomicon. Some have derided it as a clumsy hoax, while others have praised it as a powerful spell book. As the decades have passed, more information has come to light both on the book's origins and discovery, and on the information contained within its pages. Regardless of its origins, the Necronomicon has been found to contain formulae for spiritual transformation consistent with some of the most ancient mystical processes in the world—processes that were not public knowledge when the book was first published, processes that involve communion with the stars.
Despite the controversy, the first edition sold out before it was published—and it has never been out of print in the decades since then. If this book or the arcane practices that it claims to illuminate have ever piqued your interest, then wait no longer, and discover the truths that the Necronomicon has in store for you and the impact that it can have on your life.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Simon is a student of magic, occultism, and religion since the mid-1960s and the editor of the Necronomicon, Simon was a frequent lecturer for the famed Warlock Shop in Brooklyn and the Magickal Childe Bookstore in Manhattan for more than ten years before his sudden disappearance in 1984, speaking on topics as diverse as religion and politics, occultism and fascism, ceremonial magic, demonolatry, the Tarot, the Qabala, and Asian occult systems. He also conducted private classes for the New York City OTO during this period, with a focus on Enochian magic, "Owandering bishops," and Afro-Caribbean occult beliefs. An ordained priest of an Eastern Orthodox church, Simon has appeared on television and radio discussing such topics as exorcism, satanism, and Nazism. The media events he organized in the 1970s and 1980s -- with rock bands, ritual performances, and celebrity appearances -- helped to promote the "occult renaissance" in New York City. After decades of study in European, Asian, and Latin American cult centers, this book marks his first public appearance in more than twenty years.

Shopbeschreibung
With 3 stores less than 1 hour outside the DC/Metropolitan area (1 in Gaithersburg, 1 in Frederick and 1 in Hagerstown, MD), we have the largest selection of books in the tri-state area. Wonder Book and Video has been in business since 1980 and online since 1997. We have over 1 Million books for sale on our website and another 1 Million books for sale in our 3 locations. Items on Abe are not necessarily in stock at our retail locations. Please do not call the stores to place orders for Abe Books sales. We have a very active online inventory and as such, we can receive multiple orders for the same item. We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children's paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost "in the stacks" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as "1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan. Members ABAA, ILAB.…
