The 1916 Easter Rising was more than a military one; it was a cultural revolution too. The story explores the relationship between a revolutionary Irish journalist and a headstrong Kerry-born Cumann na mBan girl. The role of the Catholic Church is examined too, including its views on the events of the day. Interweaving both factual and fictional characters, the story follows an eccentric array of characters. The Nationalists is the first book of a planned trilogy and 'Exile' is the second book. A powerful tale of rebellion, love, redemption and loss.

The author is originally from Dublin but resides now in Wexford. He was born in London to Irish parents, a position which allows him to see the conflict from both sides of the Irish Sea.
