8vo. 21cm, first book edition, 320 & 224 (Vol 2 lacking final 84 pages, pp225-309), containing 34 engraved plate illustrations (wanting 6 plates & preliminaries in Vol. 2), bound in contemporary half black calf, gilt decorated raised bands, gilt borders and centre panel decorations, crimson leather label, marbled boards and endpapers, some wear on the board edges, as in (gar). "Our Mutual Friend" first appeared as a monthly serial in "All the Year Round" from 1864 to 1865. An attractively bound copy but missing leaves & plates in the second volume. This binding would not accomdate the missing pages which leads to speculation about how it can about; printing error? Bound from the parts? Etc. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 41868
