A beautiful debut collection of the simple moments in our lives. Poetry that will make you rethink the mundane and see it for what it is, a life unfolding.

Just when you think the mundane of your life couldn’t get any worse, you take a step back and realize that mundane is your life. The poetry in The Mundane helps us see that those little moments are the stepping stones to a beautiful life. The very strokes to a masterpiece. The experiences we forget about, or don’t appreciate, are the tiny rituals we all wish eventually we could go back and live again.

The day to day rhythms that are often overlooked, are the blocks that keep our foundation strong. If only there was a way to stop, and look closely at these slivers of time with a different perspective, we could all find a way to thrive in the mundane. These poems are Melissa looking back on her slivers.
