A Christian Parable teaching children about the GRATITUDE.
In this, the fourth book in the Mouse in the Hammock series, Mouse teaches us to be thankful for the little things because in the end... they are the BIG things...
How can a little mouse show gratitude in a BIG way?
Why with a Thanksgiving Day Parade of course!!
In this hilarious tale, Mouse uses a Thanksgiving Day Parade to teach us about being thankful for the little things in life: the sight of a friend, the smell of grandma’s pumpkin pie, hearing the laughter of games playing in the house, the touch of a hug from a friend, and taste of yummy food!
BOOK EXCERPT:
Thanksgiving is here!
No time to be sad! The children in Mouse’s house are feeling sorry for themselves because they don’t have the shiny new toys that the neighbor kids have…
Never fear!
Mouse will tell them all that they do have!
But how does a mouse “tell” children – by showing them, of course!
Will Mouse’s BIG display of gratitude be as GRAND as it is in his imagination? Or will it cause a Thanksgiving commotion?
In the end, Mouse truly understands the Thanksgiving message:
Enjoy the little things….
For they are the BIG things.
In the spirit of gratitude for all that God has given us, a portion of the proceeds from all Mouse in the Hammock books and Christmas ornaments are donated to children in need.
Over $10,000 USD donated so far to Maison des Enfant de Dieu (House of the Children of the Lord), an orphanage in Haiti.
BOOK EXCERPT:
Little Mouse’s BIG Mission
Doing something little can have a BIG impact!
Just ask Mouse! And now he’s on a mission to bring his message of “little things, BIG impact” to the world!
Thanks to you, the children at Maison des Enfant de Dieu (The House of the Children of the Lord), an orphanage in Haiti that is home to 60 children, will have warm food in their bellies. We firmly believe that no child should go hungry, and that if we want to break the cycle of poverty, we need to tackle food security. Thanks to you they will have the energy to laugh and play and LEARN.
The Mouse in the Hammock, a Halloween Tale is the third book in the series. Each book from the series teaches a Christian lesson based on biblical principles. The Author, Bethany Brevard, isn’t a theologian or a biblical expert. She’s just a mom who felt like the holiness of the holidays was slowly being stripped away and if a little mouse could help to bring Christ back into Christmas, then surely, she could bring Christ back into Easter (forgiveness) and even the not so holy holidays of Valentine’s (love), Thanksgiving (gratitude) and even Halloween (light in the darkness)!
The Mouse in the Hammock, a Thanksgiving Tale is a perfect companion to your kid's library along with titles like I am Thankful, Taylor the Thankful Turkey, Turkey Trouble, The Things I'm Grateful For, Pete the Cat: The First Thanksgiving, The Berenstain Bears Give Thanks, 10 Fat Turkeys, ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving (Bookshelf), Llama Llama Gives Thanks, The Berenstain Bears Thanksgiving Blessings (Berenstain Bears/Living Lights), Little Critter: Just a Special Thanksgiving, This First Thanksgiving Day: A Counting Story
