Casey sat on the floor in Indian style and closed her eyes. At first, she couldn’t sense anything. She calmed her breathing by taking slow breaths and started again. This time she felt his presence and then sensed his fear and pain. A voice popped in her head, it was Michael, ‘I can feel you Casey. Alexis has taken me and brought me back to the bar. Xander won’t let her hurt me anymore than her guys already have and he’s taken a couple hits because of it. She’s using me as bait to get to you. I know I can’t stop you so please, be careful. As quick as the voice popped in her head it was gone. Casey’s eyes popped open and she said, "I know where he is."

After dealing with a personal tragedy that changed her life, KC Lewis was left to try to make sense of things. She found that writing became a sort of therapy for her and she began to create a world in which she could make sense of things. By creating characters who faced similar issues she was able to process the changes in her own life. Lewis has always been interested in paranormal and fantasy fiction and has enjoyed creating her own fantasy world. Writing has brought her a sense of fulfillment and happiness and she has plans to continue the Casey Rickman series for several more books.
