Cornelia Funke is one of Germany’s best-loved children’s authors. She started out as an illustrator but found herself itching to write her own stories. Since then she has established a huge international fanbase with books such as Dragon Rider and her Inkheart trilogy, which was adapted into a major motion picture. Cornelia lives in Los Angeles.

Elys Dolan lives and works in Cambridge. Her brilliant Weasels book has been shortlisted for so many awards that she thinks perhaps there’s “been some kind of admin error”. When she’s not drawing and writing, she enjoys studying for her PhD and eating lots of fondant fancies. Elys says, “It’s good to keep busy, isn’t it?”
