Dr. Nakazawa grew up in World War II era Japan. Against many odds, he completed his medical education in a number of institutions, including the U.S. Naval Base hospital, where he met an American doctor who helped him make his way to the United States. After a long career in Baltimore, Maryland, where he worked in a Catholic hospital, in a private practice in a troubled neighborhood of the city, and on several important committees serving his community, he took up an interest in acupuncture and began a whole new career learning, practicing and teaching traditional Eastern medicine in the United States and in Japan. Beloved by many friends, colleagues and family all over the world, Dr. Nakzawa tells an inspiring story in his deeply honest, personal memoir.
