This book explores the state of media literacy and media education in several Central and Eastern European countries. The main argument centers around the connection between media literacy and media education on the one hand, and liberal democratic values on the other.
Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Bogdan Mihai Radu, a senior lecturer in Political Science at Babes,-Bolyai University, earned his PhD from the University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on democratization, democratic values among youth, and the link between media education and political culture in post-communist countries.
Matevž Tomšič, a political sociologist and Professor at the School of Advanced Social Studies in Nova Gorica, obtained a PhD in Sociology from the University of Ljubljana. His research interests include political elites, governance quality, Europeanisation, media pluralism, and democratization in Central and Eastern Europe.
Gabriel Bădescu, a professor of political science at Babes,-Bolyai University, has held Fulbright and Open Society Institute Fellowships. His research covers democratic and economic transitions, social capital, educational policies, research methodology, income inequality, and labor migration. Ba˘descu is actively involved in policy research and is a member of the Romanian National Research Council.
