Mechatronics System Design

MECHATRONICS SYSTEM DESIGN responds to the emergence of a new course in the ME curriculum which combines electrical components -- such as actuators and sensors -- with mechanical elements in a system. The book combines a fully-developed treatment of mechatronics with a collection of class-tested case studies taken directly from projects students at Hartford have done with industry. These practical case studies meet the need in ME for applied, design-oriented material which give the student a sense of what engineers do in actual practice. Shetty and Kolk keep the technical and mathematical content of the course at a level appropriate for senior/first year graduate students.
