Mauritius' hidden noodle stalls, banyan-shaded grills and beautiful beaches are closer than you'd think — this pocket-sized travel guide condenses them into the days that actually fit your trip.
Marco Polo is the proud map publishing partner for Race Across the World.
Whether it's your first visit or you're back for more, this guide brings Mauritius' quieter side within easy reach. Join the queue at Ti Kouloir for noodles, swim at Bain Boeuf looking out to Coin de Mire, then head to Trou d'Eau Douce for snapper grilled beneath ancient banyan trees.
Lightweight and easy to carry, it's built for lazy days watching fishing boats head out at dawn, evenings chasing sega music to a nearby bar, and slow rides through sugarcane country, with a pull-out map so you can navigate with confidence.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Marco Polo was the original, trailblazing ‘tourist’. Born around 1254 into a wealthy Venetian merchant family, at the age of 17 he embarked on an epic journey to Asia and was one of the first westerners to visit China. When he returned he recorded his extensive travels by publishing a book which introduced Europeans to Central Asia and China, possibly the first ‘travel guide’ ever published! Marco Polo’s travels have since inspired countless adventurers to set off and see the world. It is reputed that Christopher Columbus set off across the Atlantic with a copy of Marco Polo’s original book. It is this pioneering spirit that drives us at Marco Polo to provide the best guides, maps, atlases, and phrasebooks to help you explore the world. We hope our guides and maps will inspire you to set off on your own adventures. Marcopologuides.com
